TradeScope takeaway from PUB20, London

TradeScope's Ted Horton walked the PUB20 show at London Olympia on the second day of the two day show (February 4-5 2020). It was a small show, taking up just one large hall and a quarter of another hall. If you own a pub or a chain of pubs, Pub20 would be ideal trade show for you. Exhibitors comprised mainly suppliers to pubs, including everything from software and accountancy through to beer, spirits, wine, snacks, furniture and design, food, hot drinks, soft drinks and marketing.

In total, there were 18 breweries and 4 cideries exhibiting. We rated the exposure for these breweries to the buoyant London market as matching or surpassing the more beer-focused BrewLDN trade show happening in late February. There were a couple of pub chains exhibiting (Punch, Star). Interestingly, Star featured a flyer in the show catalogue offering £2000 for a new licensee. Also exhibiting were 21 distilleries and 3 brand agencies / distributors for spirits. We think this would be a very good show for US beer and spirit companies wanting exposure to the UK market.
