Craft Beer Rising 2018 is on the immediate horizon!
Most of the UK's leading importers of US craft beer will be there, including Heathwick, American Craft Beer Co., Euroboozer, Vertical Drinks and The Bottle Shop.
The Brewers Association has a large stand at the show where they offer a taste of many different beers. There are also a number of US exhibitors, including a stand with 3 breweries from the fine producers of the Commonwealth of Virginia.
The other big beer show in the UK is the Great British Beer Festival (GBBF). GBBF came out of the respected Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA), which made a huge difference to the quality of UK beer in the 1970s and 1980s, in an era when a number of large breweries had taken over the market with (frankly) mediocre industrial-scale beer. CAMRA advocated quality cask beers (live yeast) from smaller breweries. Given the emergence of so many quality beers from within and outside the UK, CAMRA is reviewing their cask-focused premise, as quality beer in kegs (no live yeast) is growing in popularity and offers a much greater shelf life.
