Europe's largest fresh produce trade show opens Wednesday!

This week, the great and the good of the fresh produce industry congregate in their droves in Berlin.

Impressive for its sheer size and breadth in terms of international exhibitors and fresh produce categories, Fruit Logistica is one of the largest food shows in the world. There were 2,800 exhibitors from 135 countries across 27 halls. Many of the country pavilions are stunning: a lot of design time and money is poured into making some of these pavilions stand out from their competitors. Last year, Spain's pavilion was particularly impressive in that at least six of its growing regions (e.g., Valencia, Catalonia) each had their own halls.

The US and Canadian pavilions are small compared to most European country pavilions. Many of the US exhibitors are trade associations and regional groups, including the Southern United States Trade Association (SUSTA), US Apple Export Council, California Table Grape Commission, USA Pears, Northwest Cherry Growers and the Washington Apple Commission.

There are a few dried fruit and nut producers exhibiting at Fruit Logistica but they are few and far between.

TradeScope will be helping some clients in the US Pavilion. If you are at the show and would like to meet up, please email us.
