The natural and organic channel in Europe is huge but getting your foot in the door is not always easy.
One of the better ways to nudge that door open is by visiting or exhibiting at the best trade shows. But which are the best? In our humble opinion, these are where you want to be at:
Biofach: Nuremberg, Germany 14–17 February 2018
Biofach is the European equivalent of Expo West. Compared to Expo West, it is bigger in terms of floor space but a bit smaller in terms of exhibitor numbers. It incorporates organic ingredients but, unlike Expo West, it has only a small nutraceutical / functional food component. However, this is the largest and most international organic trade show in Europe. 2,950 exhibitors / 50,000 trade visitors. www.biofach.de
Natural & Organic Products Europe: London 22-23 April and Malmo, Sweden 14–15 November 2018
These are two good regional trade shows, covering UK and Scandinavia, respectively. All the key organic distributors and wholesalers exhibit or visit these shows; they present an excellent opportunity to meet all of those key players. The main international focus is exhibitors that want to enter these organic markets - i.e., either the UK or Scandinavia. www.naturalproducts.co.uk www.naturalproductsscandinavia.com
The Allergy and Free From Show / Just V Show / Love Natural Love Organic: 6–8 July 2018
These three shows fill one large hall at London's Olympia. This is mainly a consumer rather than a trade show. Its main function is to raise product awareness. Surprisingly, it is not a good show to meet trade distributors and retailers. www.justvshow.co.uk www.allergyshow.co.uk/london www.lnlo.co.uk
