TradeScope participated in The Sugar Summit today in Westminster Hall. It proved to be an excellent forum for many stakeholders who are concerned about the over-consumption of sugar in the UK.
The event was organised by SugarWise, an anti-sugar advocacy group run by Rend Platings. It was chaired by the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Diabetes Chairman Keith Vaz.
It comprised presentations from academics, doctors, consumer organisations and SugarWise. Many of the presentations and follow-up questions dealt with the need for more legislation to reduce sugar and ease entry for new low sugar producers.
An excellent forum.
