TradeScope is at the International Baking Industry Exposition (IBIE) in Las Vegas. We arranged for a number of key bakery buyers from European corporates to visit the show, including Kobia (Sweden), BakeFive (Netherlands) and Cerealto (Spain).
The trade show proved a success. The Europeans were impressed with the range and quality of ingredient exhibitors. The most productive meetings were with producers of specialty flours, dried fruit and nuts, and frozen and aseptic fruit.
There were two halls, one with large equipment manufacturers and ingredient companies, and the other with smaller ingredient companies with 20% devoted to smaller equipment manufacturers.
The Europeans mentioned that they were expecting a larger trade show and more ingredient innovation. Their expectations were set somewhat by the largest European bakery show, IBA, which also happens every third year (next IBA is 15-19 September 2018).
The Las Vegas trade show happens every 3 years. A worthwhile stop for European bakery companies. And of course there is always Las Vegas entertainment!
