Montana has become a popular destination for TradeScope trade missions due to its explosive growth as a top US producer of filed peas and lentils. It has also become a major producer of garbanzo beans, or chickpeas as we know them in Europe.
A Turkish pulses and rice broker, one of a group of European buyers of specialty grain and pulses on our trade mission last year, purchased 12 containers of lentils from a Montana processor valued at at roughly $276,000 as a direct result of that trip.
We keep banging on about it but there really is no substitute for one-on-one interactions between buyers and producers. Which is why the TradeScope trade missions keep rolling on.
Ask Ted Horton about upcoming trade missions – it's likely that there will be one to suit you; if not, we may well organise one tailored especially for your requirements.
