TradeScope is in New Mexico and Arizona looking at the pecan harvest with a group of 5 European dried fruit and nut buyers.
With the harvest less than forecasted, prices are high. Available pecans are something in the range of 260m lbs harvest, 130m lbs carry-in from 2015, and 150m lbs imports from Mexico.
Rough current prices are $6.70 per ob for Junior Mammoth halves and $6.40 for pecan pieces.
