Price of wine to rocket because of Brexit?


According to an article in the Independent: The sobering analysis from the UK Trade Policy Observatory indicates that by 2025 the price of wine for UK consumers might be 22 per cent higher and the value of UK imports 27 per cent lower.

The article goes on to say: Wine lovers across the UK might soon have to shell out close to a quarter more for their favourite tipple after Brexit, as a weaker pound and sluggish economy takes its toll, a new study shows. The sobering analysis from the UK Trade Policy Observatory indicates that by 2025 the price of wine for UK consumers might be 22 per cent higher than it would be without Brexit, the volume of consumption 28 per cent lower and the value of UK imports 27 per cent lower.
