Interzoo in Nuremberg is the most important pet product show in Europe. The show is tied with Zoomark in Bologna. They alternate by year but Interzoo is larger and more pan-European.
The US Pavilion at the show comprises roughly 40 exhibitors. Dog and cat food / treat companies often encounter stiff competition from European companies but other more differentiated products can achieve traction.
TradeScope set up meetings for some of the the US exhibitors with European distributors and retailers in 2013. One of these meetings turned into a solid business for a Nevada pet food company: a leading UK pet product distributor took on their range and it has been selling well in the UK ever since.
Given a differentiated product, North American companies should think about exhibiting at this strong trade show.
