We attended Expo West with 6 European buyers. We and the Europeans were impressed with the show. There is so much innovation on display.
We noted that the dietary supplement / functional foods category seems to be growing year on year. In 2015, close to one third of the show stands were dedicated to ingredients and packaged goods in this category.
One of the Europeans commented: "The show is 5 years ahead of Europe in terms of organic and food trends. We go to the show to buy new products and to understand what will be happening in the organic, gluten free and functional food sectors in Europe in 2-5 years."
